Visitors can trace the evolution of a 12th-century lordly residence turned into a fortress, with its Pinte tower dominating the site and its second rampart enclosing the city. Listed as a Unesco World Heritage site, its current appearance owes much to the restoration work carried out by Eugène Viollet-le-Duc in the 19th century.
