Châteaux de Bruniquel stands in Bruniquel (Tarn-et-Garonne), in the Occitanie region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 12th century, 13th century, 15th century, 17th century, 19th century). Adult admission costs 7 EUR. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Two castles stand side by side on a cliff towering 90 metres above the meeting point of the Aveyron and Vère rivers, the result of a family feud that split one estate into two rival residences. The older one keeps a square 12th-century keep and medieval ramparts, while the younger one, built at the end of the 15th century, features a Renaissance gallery overhanging the drop. Visitors also find a 17th-century kitchen with its period stove and a room devoted to prehistoric finds from nearby caves.
