To make a day of it

Château de Saint-Hilaire stands in Curemonte (Corrèze), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 13th century, 15th century, 18th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

In Curemonte, in the Corrèze department, the Saint-Hilaire château stands at the centre of a walled enclosure it shares with a second building, the château des Plas. Built in the 13th century on a rectangular plan, it retains three round towers topped with machicolations and flat-tile roofs, distinguishing it from the square towers of its neighbour. Visitors can observe this unusual joint-lordship arrangement, with two residences facing each other within the same fortified perimeter still marked by turrets.
