The Retz estate, in Feucherolles, is a landscape garden created in the late 18th century by François de Monville, a man drawn to architecture and botany. Visitors can see seven surviving follies out of the original twenty or so, including the Broken Column, the Tartar Tent and the Temple of the God Pan, set along a route that once carried symbolic and exotic references. The site is explored on foot, along an outdoor path through woods and ponds.
