Originally a 15th century stronghold of the counts of Comminges, it was remodelled during the Renaissance by the bishop Jean II de Mauléon, who added the large mullioned windows and the carved entrance known as the François Ier doorway. A further wing was added in the 19th century, when the house gained running water, electricity and heating. Listed as a historic monument, the building is now privately owned.
