Château de Pontécoulant stands in Pontécoulant (Calvados), in the Normandie region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 17th century). Adult admission costs 8 EUR. Its opening hours and prices were verified at the source on August 11, 2026.
Set in the Virois countryside near the Suisse normande area, Pontécoulant castle was home to a single noble family from the 16th century until it died out in 1896. The building combines an older section from the late 16th century with a later 18th-century wing, whose arched windows give it the look of an orangery, flanked by two domed turrets. Passed to departmental ownership in the early 20th century, it now houses a museum and is surrounded by a park with a pond, a cascade and a kitchen garden.
