What the French Ministry of Culture records

Le château fut construit par Jacob de Grésille dont la mère, Madeleine de Mesnage, était la fille de l'ambassadeur de France auprès de Charles Quint. En considération de ses services, Jacob de Grésille obtint l'autorisation de porter le nom de Saint-Sauveur et ses terres furent érigées en plein fief de Haubert avec titre de baronnie. L'édifice est au centre d'un plan d'eau et se prolonge par de larges terrasses qui s'avancent dans les douves garnies de balustrades. Ces douves sont franchies, au nord et au sud, par deux ponts avec balustrades. Le château comprend une aile flanquée à l'est et à l'ouest de deux pavillons saillants. A l'intérieur, quelques boiseries subsistent dans les chambres du premier étage.
