What the French Ministry of Culture records

Témoin régional essentiel de la transition entre le Moyen Age et la Renaissance. Construit vers 1480 par Vincent Bilhonis, vicaire général de l'évéché d'Agen, la demeure, juchée sur une colline, comporte divers bâtiments disposés autour d'une cour fermée. Le corps de logis conserve, à l'intérieur, des éléments intéressants (salles voûtées...). Légué aux Annonciades pour la création d'un noviciat, le bâtiment, occupé par les Huguenots, fut canonné, pris et brûlé par les troupes du maréchal de Biron, qui massacrèrent la garnison en 1580. A la Révolution, les symboles de l'Ancien Régime y furent démolis.
