Its origins go back to the 15th century, though its history is marked above all by a tragedy of the Wars of Religion: in 1602 the lord of the estate, Gilles de Saint-Germain, was killed there by Huguenot cousins. The property later passed to the Lorgeril family, one of whom became a rear admiral, and since 1952 it has belonged to the Fauchon de Villeplée family. Notable features include a wooden baluster staircase, a drawing room and a billiard room that keep their original decor, along with a dovecote.
