The château de Montaure stands in the Eure department, in Terres de Bord, on the site of an 11th century seigneurial stronghold founded by Odon Stigand. The present building, erected in the early 18th century, shows the restrained, balanced lines of the Louis XV style. The outbuildings house a cultural centre that organises seasonal events, while a neighbouring 16th century cider press building now serves as a cider museum.
