In Puisseguin, in the Gironde department, the Château de Monbadon stands at the tip of a promontory, dominated since 1313 by a square tower whose corner turrets, two rising from the ground and two corbelled out above the first floor, still define its outline. A residential wing was later attached to this main tower, itself flanked by square corner towers. Visitors can also see a late 15th century seigneurial chapel with ribbed vaulting, set at the end of the outbuildings surrounding the former farmyard, along with a moat that once separated the whole site from the surrounding plateau, formerly crossed by a drawbridge.
