What the French Ministry of Culture records

A partir d'une construction remontant au 15e siècle, l'édifice a été agrandi en plusieurs étapes. Les principales campagnes de travaux remontent aux 17e et 19e siècles. De l'édifice primitif subsistent la tour octogonale à la base carrée, ainsi que l'aile ouest accolée d'une tour ronde. A cette partie ont été ajoutés au 17e siècle un corps de logis parallèle au bâtiment du 15e, avec un pavillon faisant retour d'équerre. La campagne de travaux menés au 19e siècle a conféré à l'édifice son aspect actuel. Ces travaux comprennent un bâtiment qui s'accroche à l'ancien corps du 17e siècle derrière une échauguette en encorbellement. A l'extérieur de l'esplanade déterminée par le fossé, ont été ajoutés à cette époque des communs qui ont remplacé des bâtiments détruits. Cet édifice est caractéristique des châteaux de Sologne à architecture de brique.
