To make a day of it

Château de Missery stands in Missery (Côte-d'Or), in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 14th century, 17th century, 18th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

At Missery, in the Côte-d'Or, a Burgundian château stands on a platform surrounded by water-filled moats, at the northern edge of the village. Its origins go back to a fortified house recorded as early as 1360, of which four round towers survive, incorporated in 1752 into a residence rebuilt for a counsellor of the Parlement. A small Romanesque church bearing the arms of the lords of Mâlain stands to the south of the building, on the site of the former outer courtyard.
