Built between 1672 and 1684 by architect Barthélémy Le Blanc, the château de Menou stands in the Nièvre department amid a park restored to its 17th century layout. The moat, once filled in and later reopened, surrounds a building that remained in the Blacas family throughout the 19th century and into the 20th. Two rooms stand out: the King's Chamber and the Cabinet of Metamorphoses, both keeping their original painted panelling.
