To make a day of it

Château de Corbelin stands in La Chapelle-Saint-André (Nièvre), in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 15th century, 16th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Set on the banks of the Corbelin river in the Nièvre department, this château combines four massive towers from the late 14th century with a Renaissance residential wing and later outbuildings, including an 18th century utility building and a 19th century service structure. First recorded in the 12th century, the site once served as a border lordship between the county of Nevers and the barony of Donzy, and later became an ironworking site, with the ruins of a blast furnace still visible today. The complex reflects centuries of successive building phases layered on the same ground.
