To make a day of it

Château de Lantenay stands in Lantenay (Côte-d'Or), in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: second half of the 17th century, 18th century, 19th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Set on a hillside at Lantenay in the Côte-d'Or, this château replaces a medieval stronghold of which only an old chapel survives, its broken barrel vault covered in frescoes. Built for the Bouhier family in the second half of the 17th century, it consists of two wings arranged in an L, with a west facade flanked by two square pavilions each housing a staircase with wrought-iron railing. In the courtyard a nymphaeum backs onto the retaining wall of a balustraded terrace, and the English-style park still holds a dovecote and a 17th-century pavilion.
