What the French Ministry of Culture records

Un château existait au 13e siècle. L'édifice actuel a dû être édifié au 16e siècle, terminé ou remanié au 17e siècle. Il domine la vallée à partir d'une terrasse à balustres. Un ensemble de communs s'aligne le long de la cour d'honneur, au nord. Le corps de logis principal est allongé, à un étage, et flanqué de cinq tourelles dont la plus ancienne est sans doute celle qui abrite l'escalier à vis, au centre de la façade sur cour au nord. Sur cette même façade ont été gardées les fenêtres autrefois à meneaux, témoins de la construction du 16e siècle. Au rez-de-chaussée, toutes les ouvertures du corps central ont été repercées en grandes fenêtres ou portes fenêtres plein cintre, à la Restauration. A cette même époque, le décor intérieur a été modifié. La chapelle se trouve sur la façade latérale est.
