What the French Ministry of Culture records

Au 13e siècle, le château est détenu par les Cardaillac. L'édifice présente un plan en H, suite aux diverses adjonctions à partir du noyau central d'une tour carrée. Une seconde tour est décelable au nord, ainsi que les traces de percements médiévaux. Le niveau des caves, semi enterrées, conserve de nombreux vestiges de cette époque. Au 15e ou 16e siècle, ajout d'une tour d'escalier en angle. Aux 18e et 19e siècles, réorganisation des façades, des accès et des distributions intérieures. Deux dépendances s'alignent sur la cour d'honneur, l'une du 17e siècle, l'autre du 19e, construite avec les pierres provenant de l'ancien prieuré de Camilnel.
