To make a day of it

Château de La Petite-Pierre stands in La Petite-Pierre (Bas-Rhin), in the Grand Est region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 14th century, 16th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Set on a ridge 340 metres high, the château of La Petite-Pierre overlooks the fortified village from which it is separated by a man-made ditch. Continuously occupied since the Middle Ages, it bears the marks of eight centuries of alterations, from the Romanesque windows of the residence to the fortifications reworked by Vauban at the end of the 17th century. Now home to the regional nature park of the Vosges du Nord, the site opens its courtyard, garden and a craft shop to visitors.
