To make a day of it

Château de la Bréchinie stands in Grassac (Charente), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 18th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

In Grassac, in the Charente region, the château de la Bréchinie is a walled complex where the manor house, chapel, dovecote and tower still stand around a former courtyard. The main building, erected in the early 18th century, has a facade flanked by two projecting pavilions beneath a mansard roof with dormer windows. The dovecote, older still, is said to retain its rotating ladder dating back to the 16th century. The estate passed from the Vassoigne family to the Bodard de La Jacopière family before being sold in 1980.
