To make a day of it

Château de Gramont stands in Gramont (Tarn-et-Garonne), in the Occitanie region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 13th century, 14th century, 16th century). Adult admission costs 7 EUR. Its opening hours and prices were verified at the source on August 12, 2026.

Overlooking the Arratz valley in the Lomagne region, Gramont castle combines a fortified 13th century core, centred on the tower known as Simon de Montfort's tower, with a Renaissance wing built in the 16th century after the Montaut and Voisins families were joined by marriage. Inside, a vaulted spiral staircase leads to a small oratory, and the state rooms retain monumental fireplaces, French-style ceilings and period furniture. Visitors enter through a gatehouse topped with Gothic carvings, a remnant of the earlier stronghold.
