In the Gers department, the château de Magnas spreads three wings around a main courtyard, a legacy of a barony that passed through several noble families from the 14th century onward. The oldest sections, on the side of the outbuildings, date from the 16th century, while the main house and the west wing bear the mark of works carried out in the late 19th century by architect Clément Parent. Notable features include the stone staircase built by this former pupil of Viollet-le-Duc, the towers flanking the wings, and the terrace overlooking the valley.
