The château de Fourquevaux stands in the Haute-Garonne département on the site of a thirteenth-century tower built at the confluence of two streams. The present building dates from the fifteenth century, with later additions in the sixteenth, and once belonged to the Beccaria de Pavie family, one of whose members served as ambassador to Catherine de Medici. Visitors can see the surviving central wing with its arcaded ground floor facing the courtyard, along with an orangery from the late eighteenth century decorated with Ionic pilasters, pediments and a balustrade topped with fire urns.
