Le château est une grosse maison des champs qui résulte de l'extension, vers 1700, d'un premier édifice des années 1580 dont les dispositions architecturales se rattachent à une famille de châteaux élevés en pays toulousain pendant les guerres de Religion. Au 19e siècle, les intérieurs du château furent réaménagés par le comte de Villèle, ministre de Louis XVIII puis de Charles X. Construction également d'une chapelle funéraire d'inspiration néo-gothique, et de deux ensembles de communs.
