To make a day of it

Château de Ferrières stands in Sérignac (Lot), in the Occitanie region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: fourth quarter of the 18th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

In Sérignac, in the Lot department, the château de Ferrières stands on the foundations of a medieval stronghold, of which two towers still mark the corners of the courtyard. Begun in 1775 for the Comte de Valence, the classical building was left unfinished when the Revolution halted construction. Visitors can see restrained 18th-century façades and, inside, a square salon with Ionic ordering along with marble fireplaces topped by sculpted plaster overmantels.
