In Courcelles-le-Roi, in the Loiret, two towers remain from a fortified castle that once counted eight, standing along the banks of the Rimarde river. The site was destroyed twice during the Hundred Years' War before being rebuilt in the 15th century, and Charles VIII stayed there with Anne of Brittany in 1493. The building, marked by a fire during the Second World War, still bears traces of these successive reconstructions, including a 15th-century turret.
