What the French Ministry of Culture records

La tour et les bâtiments voisins, vestiges de l'ancien château, rappellent le rôle important de cette place pendant la guerre de Cent ans. Tour de plan circulaire à laquelle est accolée, à l'ouest, une tourelle également circulaire renfermant l'escalier à vis desservant les étages. La salle du rez-de-chaussée, sensiblement carrée, est couverte d'une voûte d'arêtes. Les salles supérieures présentent, à chacun des trois étages, une disposition à peu près semblable. Des petites pièces circulaires communiquent avec chacune de ces salles. Au premier étage, l'une d'elles conserve des restes de peintures où, sur fond de bouquets de feuillages et de fleurs, sont peints des portraits de femmes dans un médaillon et des paysages dans des cadres rectangulaires. La salle du premier étage conserve une cheminée en bois peint du 18e siècle.
