The château de Châteauneuf stands at Saint-Léon, in the Gironde, built during the second half of the 16th century and later altered up through the 19th. The rectangular main building, flanked by two round towers on the west side, still shows on the east front an arched doorway carved with lion heads and topped by a keystone bearing a woman's head with a hairstyle typical of the late 16th century. A courtyard lined with outbuildings and two smaller towers completes the layout, along with a south-facing perron with an 18th century wrought iron balustrade.
