What the French Ministry of Culture records

Les éléments les plus anciens remontent au début du 14e siècle, à savoir la base de tous les murs du château, les deux premiers étages des tours de la Porte et une partie de la tour octogonale. Au 15e siècle, l'emploi d'armes nouvelles entraîna une évolution du système défensif, les embrasures succédant aux meurtrières. Le 16e siècle se retrouve dans une salle voûtée située à droite de la Porte, peut-être l'ancienne chapelle selon certains archéologues. Au début du 19e siècle, d'importants travaux furent réalisés, modifiant certains aspects du château, avec des appartements Empire.
