To make a day of it
Château de Chadebec stands in Saint-Germain-les-Vergnes (Corrèze), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 19th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.
The château de Chadebec stands in Saint-Germain-les-Vergnes, in the Corrèze department, set within a 19th century landscaped park that forms the main interest of the site. The estate, which passed from the lords of Favars to the Miremont and then the Miramon families, was redesigned under a Paris-based engineer who commissioned several landscape architects to draw up new grounds. Visitors can see winding paths, lawns dotted with specimen trees, a former kitchen garden laid out in four sections, and an artificial stream that encircles the park. Two small follies, a henhouse and an ice house, still stand near the main building.
