Château de Bugarach stands in Bugarach (Aude), in the Occitanie region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 16th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Standing above the village of Bugarach in the Aude department, this 16th-century castle survives today as partially restored ruins. Dismantled in 1586 during the Wars of Religion, it was never rebuilt, so everything still standing, the square tower, the curtain walls and the base of a turret, predates that destruction. The eastern wall, the best preserved section, still rises some ten metres and retains a mullioned window.
