To make a day of it

Château de Brunoy stands in Brunoy (Essonne), in the Île-de-France region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

The château de Brunoy, in the Essonne department, no longer stands as the grand residence it once was in the eighteenth century: the main building, a favourite retreat of the Comte de Provence, later Louis XVIII, was torn down after the French Revolution. What remains of the estate is scattered, including the smaller château, now put to other use, and the pyramid built in the nearby Sénart forest by the architect Soufflot. Visitors are drawn mainly by the eventful history of the place, from the extravagances of the Marquis de Brunoy to the visits of Marie-Antoinette.
