To make a day of it

Domaine des Prés stands in Montgeron (Essonne), in the Île-de-France region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

The domaine des Prés, in Montgeron, is a former country house whose history goes back to the eighteenth century, when the future Louis XVIII purchased it to serve as the seat of the Sénart hunting administration. It later passed through the hands of several notable families, including the Montmorencys and then the Guyot de Villeneuve family, and became known for its horticultural collections, particularly its orange trees and peonies, which were among the most admired of their time. The name domaine des Prés was only given to the estate at the end of the nineteenth century.
