To make a day of it

Château de Beauregard stands in Saint-Jeoire (Haute-Savoie), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

Standing on a terrace above the village of Saint-Jeoire-en-Faucigny, this fortified house still carries the outline of its 13th-century keep. Over the centuries a stair tower, corner towers and a crenellated terrace, purely decorative despite its battlements, were added to the original structure. The walls and plaster still bear traces of eight centuries under a single family before the estate took on a new purpose.
