What the French Ministry of Culture records

Château mentionné en 1282, mais de création plus ancienne. En 1392, un incendie détruit les logements, mais le gros oeuvre résiste. Les murs d'enceinte du bourg venaient se souder à ceux du château constitué d'une tour, de courtines et d'un donjon. Le château devait se diviser en deux parties distinctes : la première vers l'entrée comprenait une cour avec les écuries, étables et communs ; la seconde, en forme d'équerre, abritait les logements du comte. Le château se transforme en prison au 18e siècle.
