To make a day of it

Château d'Hérouville stands in Hérouville-en-Vexin (Val-d'Oise), in the Île-de-France region of France. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Château d'Hérouville, in the French Vexin, owes much of its fame to its past as a legendary recording studio, hosting Elton John, Pink Floyd, David Bowie or Cat Stevens between 1969 and 1985. Built in 1740 on the ruins of an earlier manor, the building consists of two pavilion wings linked by a wall pierced with a gateway, in a style drawn from the Roman school of architecture. The place has had several lives: a coach relay in the 19th century, a film location in 1929, then a residential studio known as Strawberry Studio or Honky Château.
