Built in 1740 on the ruins of an earlier manor, the building consists of two pavilion wings linked by a wall pierced with a gateway, in a style drawn from the Roman school of architecture. The place has had several lives: a coach relay in the 19th century, a film location in 1929, then a residential studio known as Strawberry Studio or Honky Château.
