To make a day of it

Château d'Hausen stands in Hombourg-Haut (Moselle), in the Grand Est region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 18th century). No visits are on record for this building.

At the western entrance to Hombourg-Haut, the château d'Hausen now houses the town hall, though its history remains tied to the forges of the Rosselle valley. Built for Charles de Wendel in the mid 18th century, the building retains its symmetrical seven-bay façade, horseshoe-shaped staircase and triangular pediment framed in sandstone. Behind the main building lies an English-style park of roughly one hectare, with a pond and the remains of an old lead mine.
