In the commune of Vidauban, in the Var department, the Astros estate combines the remains of a former Templar and later Hospitaller commandery with a 19th-century residence built in the style of Italian villas, complete with turrets and a raised terrace. The property also retains a chapel, a dovecote and an irrigation canal with its aqueduct bridges, evidence of continuous agricultural use since the Middle Ages. Now surrounded by orchards, the estate was used as a filming location for the exteriors of Marcel Pagnol's film Le Château de ma mère.
