Above the village of Tourves, the ruins of the Château de Valbelle recall a grand 18th century residence built by Count Omer de Valbelle with architect Vallon. Burned down in 1799 after being used as a garrison, the building was never rebuilt, yet its Tuscan colonnade and overgrown park still carry a romantic atmosphere. Visitors come as much for the walk through the landscape as for the history, in a protected natural setting overlooking the village.
