The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 11th century, 16th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Perched on a spur of the Thèmes massif at 435 metres above sea level, the ruins of Forcalqueiret castle overlook the Issole valley from roughly a hundred metres up. This 11th-century fortified site once controlled the route linking Brignoles to Toulon and kept visual contact with the neighbouring castle of Rocbaron. Listed today as a historic monument, the building is the subject of a restoration project led by a local association together with the municipality, which owns the site.
