Set on a rocky spur above the village of Trigance in the Var, this castle overlooks the Jabron valley within the Verdon regional nature park. Three of its round towers remain within a quadrangular enclosure, now restored and run as a hotel and restaurant.

What to know

  • The castle now operates as a hotel and restaurant, which shapes access to its interior spaces.
  • Reaching the site involves a climb from the village up a rocky spur.
  • The building lies within the Verdon regional nature park, a protected landscape.
  • The vaulted former armoury houses the restaurant.
  • Because the ruins were long used as a stone quarry, most of the standing structure results from restoration work carried out since the 1960s.
