In Angervilliers, in the Essonne department, what remains today is not the château itself, which disappeared through its successive rebuildings, but two 17th century outbuildings: the former wine press, now called the orangery, and the manorial dovecote. The estate passed through centuries of eventful history, changing hands among parliamentarians, a minister and a marquise who was a friend of Madame de Récamier, before falling into neglect during the 20th century. Today these remaining structures serve municipal purposes, with the town hall housed in the orangery and the library in the dovecote.
