The Château d'Alos, in the Tarn department, is a fortified manor house dating from the 15th century, likely built by the d'Aymeric family, who held the lordship. Its pale stone silhouette, flanked by a square tower and a round tower with a spiral staircase, has withstood later alterations without losing its defensive character. Machicolations and timber-framed sections pierced with loopholes recall the site's military purpose, while the interior still holds original fireplaces and ceilings.
