Château d'Allerey stands in Allerey-sur-Saône (Saône-et-Loire), in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 18th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.
What the French Ministry of Culture records
La motte est attestée dès le 13e siècle. Le château semble avoir été réédifié au 17e siècle. Il fut pillé à la Révolution et remanié au 19e siècle. Le château se compose d'un corps de logis rectangulaire, flanqué de deux pavillons latéraux. Le corps de logis principal présente un avant-corps central surmonté d'un fronton triangulaire orné d'armoiries. Le corps central est encadré de deux ailes en léger retrait, flanquées elles-mêmes de pavillons carrés. Les intérieurs conservent leur disposition d'origine. Les boiseries et la décoration en général ont été très remaniées sous Charles X. L'escalier d'honneur a été remplacé au 19e siècle par un escalier en bois. L'ensemble est complété par deux bâtiments de communs et un parc.
