To make a day of it

Tour de Champiteau stands in Saint-Firmin (Saône-et-Loire), in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

The Champiteau tower stands at the bottom of a small valley in Saint-Firmin, in the Saône-et-Loire department, beside a pond. This square structure, ten metres on each side and reinforced at its corners with dressed stone chaining, once held a cellar, a ground floor and three upper levels. From the twelfth century it was the seat of a fief held by the lords of Antully and later Montjeu, passing through several owners before the Revolution, when it belonged to the revolutionary figure Le Pelletier de Saint-Fargeau.
