What the French Ministry of Culture records

Initialement plate-forme militaire, le manoir est bâti sur un quadrilatère entièrement entouré de douves. Trois ponts-levis, transformés en ponts fixes au milieu du 17e siècle, donnaient accès à la place, défendue alors par sept tours, dont six subsistent. Des communs Renaissance s'ordonnaient à l'ouest de la cour d'honneur. La tour carrée nord-est a été refaite en 1820 à usage de four à pain. Le manoir est un bâtiment rectangulaire flanqué d'une tour d'escalier polygonale. La façade nord est flanquée d'une tour carrée.
