In Brandivy, in the Morbihan, the manoir de Kergal is a seigneurial house built in the early sixteenth century by two brothers who were canons of Vannes cathedral. Its construction took place in two phases, around 1518-1520 and then around 1550, as tree-ring dating of the roof timbers has shown. Visitors can see a basket-handle arch doorway, mullioned windows, a gabled dormer topped with a carved figure and animals, and a stair turret attached to the west facade. Inside, stone fireplaces and gothic corbels remain.
