To make a day of it

"Institution Notre-Dame " Les Oiseaux "" stands in Verneuil-sur-Seine (Yvelines), in the Île-de-France region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 18th century, 19th century, second quarter of the 20th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Verneuil castle, now part of a private school, stands on a site fortified as early as the Middle Ages by the Montmorency family. Its present appearance owes much to architect Jacques-Denis Antoine, who reworked it in the late eighteenth century. A chapel dating from the 1930s, dedicated to Christ the King and designed by architect Jactat, also stands on the grounds, along with an English-style park laid out in the early nineteenth century by Vital Vial. The Tocqueville family once lived here, and Alexis spent part of his childhood on the estate.
