Au 18e siècle, le développement viticole du Bordelais entraîne l'édification, le long de la Garonne, de nombreux domaines, demeures d'agrément à vocation également agricoles, construites par la noblesse parlementaire, les armateurs et les grands négociants. Une seconde vague d'édifices néo-classiques d'inspiration palladienne - dont fait partie ce domaine - vient, à partir du Directoire, compléter la première. Deux pavillons carrés sont reliés par une grille percée en son centre d'un portail à piles carrées, et précèdent l'élévation principale. Un proche hors oeuvre formé de quatre colonnes précède les trois baies centrales.
